The new Cloverfield trailer is now in high definition at the Apple website, and this one offers us the first real glimpse of the monster terrorizing New York City.  Again this trailer did not disappoint in stirring up excitement for January 18^th, 2008.  The big event takes place at the 1:29 minute mark in the trailer, where you can briefly see the monster moving between buildings.  I have circled the monster below so you know what you are looking for.

This little picture does not do justice to the speculation that we are really getting a glimpse of this thing.  Go watch it for yourself in real time, and then frame by frame, you will see that it is moving and it is most definitely not debris, smoke or funny lighting.  It is without a doubt the thing that is causing destruction and devastating the city.

The other great part about this peek is that there is just enough detail to see that it is the monster, but too little to say anything specific about it.  I can see how one person can say it is slimy, another says it is scaly, and yet another who thinks it is metallic.  

One other thing that I saw that struck me as odd, was the military guy who appears at the 1:00 minute mark.  For some reason his face is all blocked out like they do on TV when they don’t have permission to show someone’s face.  If anyone has theories about any of these things, please feel free to share in the comments.
