If you are like me and did not see Transformers this week, I suggest you do a search on YouTube for J.J. Abrams Project so you can see the first trailer for this film.  As a fan of the television show Lost, I am really looking forward to the puzzle that this film should bring between now and January 18th 2008.

From the trailer people have made guesses that this is going to be another Godzilla movie, but I highly doubt this.  My guess is that we are dealing with an alien invasion or perhaps even gods, as you explore the websites you will see the clues that led me to this guess.  Either way something big has come to destroy the world, or at least New York City.  No name has been identified for the film yet, but the name “Cloverfield” has been tossed around as a code name.

This domain name represents the date of the films release, this site shows two photos with time stamps.  The first looks like a going away party on this date at 12:01 AM.  The second is a half hour later, of people looking very scared presumably at whatever has come for mass destruction.  The effect will probably be even greater if you get the chance to see the opening day 12:01 AM show. That’s it for this site.

If you liked the game Myst, this site is a great way to kill a couple hours.  You will be presented with five puzzles each of which unlock a short clip of a character named Dan (I won’t spoil the solutions, but they can be found in Google if you need help).  Dan introduces us to a profit named Ethan Haas, and reads some of the works from Haas describing the end of an era.  Some important things that we will want to keep in mind is the date August 1^st, and the number 54312.  Dan encourages us return on August 1^st and let as many people as we can know about the site.  As for the number 54312, I have no idea what the significance is yet, but judging from J. J. Abrams’ use of numbers in Lost, this number will most certain play a large role.

Ok, here is where it gets interesting, this site claims that Ethan Haas was a blasphemer.  Aside from this I have not figured out the significance of very much at this site.  However there are a couple things I think we need to note.  First the site is written by a group or person called Mezin Source and their location says Latvia.  Second they name Van Mantra as the person or group responsible for ethanhaaswasright.com, also note that Van Mantra can be e-mailed for hints on the puzzles from his site (look to the stars).  This site also has quotes from Ethan Haas that mention gods destroying cities, and even war.  There is also another language on this site, I am still trying to figure this out, but will take another look when I am not so tired.

I am still trying to find a translation to the text on http://ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com/ so for now I have no news here.  At http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ when I went on today, I was able to see new part that sort of flashed quickly last night after I finished the puzzles.  The word “DIVINUS” is written at the top of a form asking for your name and e-mail with a button to “remind me”.  After you submit your name and e-mail “DIVINUS” changes to the date “August 1^st – 2007” which of course is the day we are supposed to return.  

I went back to take a second look at the site http://www.1-18-08.com/ with the photos.  There was mention of a demon in the second picture with the 12:36A time stamp.  Sure enough the light area between the two heads there is clearly a demon.  It has also been guessed by a number of people that this is not two people at all but one person, and that the person on the far right side of the other picture is also the same person.  However I am not convinced that any of them are the same person.  On the 12:36A photo the person on the right looks very similar to Rosario Dawson.  Judging from her Filmography on IMDb there is certainly some space in there where should could work on a secret film.  Also both photos can be moved around and will continue to slowly spin long after they have been left alone.  I don’t think there is any real meaning to the spinning, but at one point while I was watching this it looked like the party photo was heavy on the right side where the person is supposedly possessed.

A funny side note: it looks like they were unable to get the domain name www.ethanhaaswaswrong.com as this is now a spoof of the Ethan Haas was wrong blog mentioned above.
