Two possibly unrelated viral marketing campaigns seem to feeding off of one another with blogs and message board forums trying to relate the two (including my own).  Both campaigns are being attributed to the J.J. Abrams Project codenamed Cloverfield, yet the second seems to be a video game.  The confusion probably started with the web site parasitemovie.com which is a fan site that has no official connections.  Yet it links to Ethan Haas Was Right with a label of Cloverfield, and the 1-18-08 site on the same page.

The 1-18-08 site seems to be the only official site for the J.J. Abrams Project.  However, on the Ethan Haas Was Wrong Blog, the comments are dominated by talk about the J.J. Abrams Project.  Today’s post made reference to the fact that the date being discussed(1-18-08) had nothing to do with Ethan Haas.  I think they are trying to get people back to talking about the game rather than the unrelated film.  Hopefully the confusion will be cleared up in the next couple days and we can focus on the two as separate campaigns.
