Since the dawn of hybrid vehicles the average American has dismissed them as wimpy cars that can barely hit 50 miles per hour.  Well this past week perhaps the largest leap in the fight against global warming occurred from a familiar name, but an unlikely candidate.  Al Gore III took his father’s cause and opened the eyes of all the hybrid technology naysayers, as he proved that in fact the Toyota Prius can do 100 miles per hour.  Although driving the Prius at speeds this high really defeats the purpose of owning a hybrid, the incident can only increase sales of the car in the US.  Toyota should expect a surge in sales of not only the Prius but of all their hybrid models.   No longer is the Gore name only preaching to the choir with boring speeches and documentaries, but twice now Gore III has used his means to show the light to the non-believers as this is the second 90+ mph incident involving his Prius.
