Days after J.J. Abrams denied that Ethan Haas had anything to do with his film codenamed Cloverfield, many people still believe this is a major player in the viral marketing campaign. What would Abrams possibly gain by affirming one site yet denying another? Even the Ethan Haas Was Wrong blog has alluded to the two being unrelated. Unfortunately there are many bloggers and website owners that went all out in using Ethan Haas themes in developing their Cloverfield fan sites that now need to perpetuate the false connections for their sites to make any sense whatsoever (I won’t specifically name any but .org is a good sign of the sites I’m talking about). I have failed to see a substantial connection between Ethan Haas and Cloverfield, if you are convinced otherwise please leave a comment showing me what I’m missing.
If you have been following along with my posts, you may have noticed that I have yet to mention the ABZ 3293 license plate website and the Noriko Yoshida website. I am not yet even 70% convinced that either one is part of the campaign, although I am beginning to see more substantial clues in linking the Yoshida site.
