This has been a huge week in the J.J. Abrams Project so lets get to business and start talking about J.J. Abrams appearance at ComiCon. It was rumored that he would reveal the title to this film currently codenamed Cloverfield. This did not happen, but Abrams did reveal that he is following the rumors even closer than those of us blogging about them. “You think we’d call it Monstrous? No.” was all he said regarding the official title of the film. Where did he pull “Monstrous” from? There are currently a number of different posters of the Statue of Liberty missing its head (see trailer to find the head), one of which has the word “Monstrous” written across the top. However there are other with different descriptive words such as “Furious” and “Terrifying” in place of “Monstrous”. The other title that is circulating as a possibility is “Colossus”, this is interesting because the Statue of Liberty is sometimes referred to as the new Colossus (comparing it to the
1-18-08 has a new photo, and it takes us back to the party at 12:04A, this one has three faces, a plastic party cup, and the corner of a video camera. This one is interesting because it is the first of the sequence that goes back in time. It also supports my previous speculation that the film will be shown in real continuous unbroken time as it keeps the photos within a two hour time frame. Now that we have seen a couple more photos I went back to look at the one with the two faces and the light spots between the two that people have said is a demon or perhaps a depiction of HP Lovecraft. I thought that maybe I could stand back and see it as hair as the denouncers have claimed. They are probably right but I have convinced my brain that I see something there. It is very interesting how easily it is to convince yourself of something despite all of the contradictory evidence.
Finally Slusho has some updates, but it looks like they are just for fun at this point without any revealing aspects of the film. The flavor section is the most interesting as it lets you choose different flavors represented by robots and combine them to create a new robot flavor (you will just have to try it to see what I am trying to describe here). They now have official Slusho merchandise including the t-shirt seen in the trailer, it looks like they are really selling this stuff as they have shipping/billing information forms in the checkout. Also there is the “Happy Talk” section that has different customer quotes about how much they love Slusho!
